MAICSA Conference

Date    : 12 November 2011
Venue : UTAR, Setapak campus

By attending this conference there are many things that we had learned. However, we would like to highlight one thing that certainly will benefit many of you especially the accounting students.

We are always thought since young to never limit the choices that we made in life. In other words, keep our options open.
Well, before we attended this conference, I always thought that my future career will only be in accounting field; doing accounting related job like auditing and so on.

However, through this conference, we learn and get to know more about the professional qualification offered my MAICSA. They just open another pathway to our future career. After our degree, we can actually continue on to be a member of MAICSA by just completing the final 4 papers. In addition to that, we can also get our professional qualification as a chartered secretary from MAICSA at just a minimal fee of less than RM 4 000. (Further details please visit the MAISCA website).

We know many of you may be asking, chartered secretary? What do we actually do? Well, during the conference we are actually very fortunate to have few MAICSA members who are currently a practitioner to share with us what their job is like. Being a member of MAICSA, they attends board meeting in private or public companies and provide advice to the Board OF Directors especially on the issue of corporate governance. They also highlighted to us that being a chartered secretary is different from being a secretary where they work for the company not for a particular person.

That is what we would like to share about the conference.
